Top 7 Ways To Speed Up PC

Introduction:-
This is a very common problem that everyone faces after the pc became somewhat older. The main thing that made your pc work slow down is your hard disk and ram. This is because:-
1) Everything is stored in your hard disk and everything is excessed from your hard disk.
2) Everything that is been excessed use ram.

That's why it depands on these factors. There are method to speed up your computer somewhat faster then before but not as fast as your pc was before when you purchased it.

Follow steps to speed up your computer:-


1)Use Disk Cleanup (For removing unwanted file from you PC):-

•  Press START button and click on RUN option in the menu
• Type in run cleanmgr

• A dialog box will appear,select ur drive press ok the cleaning of the unwanted files will start

NOTE:- 

Here you can use some other tool because disk cleanup can not remove all unused files but software like Argente Disk Cleaner search you whole drive for unused file.

2)Speed up access to data:-

• In run type dfrg.msc
• A Disk Defragmenter dialog box will appear,select ur drive press ok the  Defragmentation of  files will start

NOTE:-

This utility will remove the fragments from your harddisk due to which the excess time of file will get reduce(application now starts faster then before).

3)Detect and repair disk errors:-

• In property of drive(c:/d:) go to tool option here click check now

OR

• In Run Type chkdsk drive letter

NOTE:-

Some times bad sectors are created in your computer which slows the working of hard disk there for check utility is Created to recover bad sector.


4)Use add & remove program:-

• Go to Start> Setting> control panel> Add & romove program.

Now from the list that you see here remove applications that you don't use frequently.

5)Remove Startup program:-

• In Run Type MSCONFIG
• Click the startup tab and uncheck all the UNWANTED program's except your anti virus. because all the other processes that starts at start up only consume Ram

NOTE:-

In case some process is required then you can start them youself.

6)Stop unused process:-

• In run Type services.msc

this window show a list of services that your os provides you but from this list there are many services that a normal user do not require therefor they not useful and should be stoped.
So to stop these process from starting at each startup right click the service that you want to stop and then click property in property set startup type to manual and stop the process. some of the process that can stop are listed below.(below list is for those programs which are not frequently used so stop it at your own risk)

• Alerter
  
• Automatic Updates
  
• ClipBook
  
• Indexing Service
• Messenger
• Net Logon
• NetMeeting Remote Desktop Sharing
• Protected Storage
• Remote Desktop Help Session Manager
• Remote Registry
• Telnet
• Terminal Services

The above list is for disabling some of the unused services of ms windows

NOTE:-

An advanced user can set these according to its need.


7)Turn off graphics:-

• Right click destop then goto property here change theme to Windows classic.

Incase your computer is working very slow then you should turn graphics off by changing you theme to windows classic.

NOTE:-
1) In case you computer is working very slowly then start the memory.vbe(change extension from txt to vbe) file

Creating memory.vbe file.

• start Notepad
• in here type MYSTRING=(80000000)
• save it with any name but the extension should be vbe at desktop
  
• now whenever you computer is getting very slow start this file.

Using Pen Drive/Hard Disk as Ram to Speed Up Computer in Windows 7, XP, Vista, Linux

 Introduction:-

             PC requirement of RAM is huge and because ram is very expensive memory so we try to minimize it by either using Hard Disk or PenDrive as RAM. Thou using hard disk and pen drive as RAM is very economical option but they are not as fast as the actual ram is so the ram space which is created through these opteration are used to store data of applications that are not currently active that is which have been stopped ,not closed but which we are not using currently.
           Among the two type of external ram, pen drive is faster one because pen drive is created using much faster disk technology then hard disk.

How to use Hard Disk as RAM:-

1.  Goto "My Computer"
2. Now Right Click on Blank Space in My Computer or simply Right Click on My Computer Icon
3. Now on right click menu that appears Left Click on  Property
4. Now new windows will pop up here. if you are using XP then goto Advanced Tab and if you are using Higher Version then Goto Advanced System Setting option on the right in the window that appeared and then Goto Advanced Tab of the next window.
5. here you can see number of Setting Button, click the setting button which is under performance section
6. now in the window that appeared Goto Advanced Tab
7. now in Virtual Memory Section you can see the currently allocated space and if you feel it is not present or used in less amount then click on the change button and increase the value in the window that appears
   
   Note:- you can also see the below figure if you have any doubts

How to Use Pen Drive as RAM:-

1. First Step is identifying Software Needed 
2. 
   
   For XP or lower:- eboostr (download from here and install it).
   For Vista or higher:- readyBoost  (already present).
   
3. Now attach/insert your pen drive to computer.
   
4. Now to use readyboost on windows 7
   • Goto Property of Pen Drive by right clicking the pendrive icon in my computer
   • now click to readyBoost tab on the window that appears
   • now as you can see from the figure first press "Dedicate this device to readyboost" radio button
   • then adjust the memory you want to give to ram from Pen drive
   • and thats it!!
   
   Now to use eboostr in Windows XP 
   • first you need to install eboostr onto your computer and then restart the computer as asked by the software
   • then open eboostr control panel from start menu
   • now click continue button if you have trail version
   • now you have to add one of the drive to Eboostr Control Panel by click add and then selecting one of the drive and you need to specify disk space there itself

Running Multiple Instances Of Yahoo Messanger

• Go to Start >> Run. Type ‘Regedit’ and press Enter. This opens the Registry editor.
• Navigate to KEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Yahoo\Pager\Test

Remove | Protect | Hide your Entire partition | drive

  Introduction:-
diskpart is windows inbuilt program utility, it lets us do many things like making any partition active, changing/assigning drive letter, creating MBR(master boot recorder), extend any volume, create a volume or partition, making any disk online etc. but here i m only telling you about how to hide your drive and also changing drive letter.

Steps:-

1. First press "win+r" or go to run and type diskpart here and hit enter.
2. Now type "list volume" to see volume available in here and "list disk" to see disk available in here(see the figure).

3. Now to hide lets suppose my drive d first type "select volume 2" [for selecting my d drive for processing].
4. Since we have selected my drive d so now type "remove letter d" for hiding it.
5. Now once you have done last step your drive will not be seen in my computer[Some times it is required to reboot your system].
6. Now to give your hidden drive some letter so that it will appear again first type "select volume 2"[my drive d].
7. Then type "assign letter d" [you can assign any letter except letters assign already].
8. exit[your drive will appear again].
